U.S. stock futures slightly surged higher Wednesday night after the Dow Jones Industrial Average reclaimed a 459-point loss from earlier hours of the trading session as investor concerns on a debt ceiling deal eased.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 42 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 0.1%.
During regular trading hours, the Dow rose 102.32 points to 34,416.99, reclaiming a 459-point loss from earlier in the session. The S&P advanced 0.4%, after falling as low as 1.27%. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.5%, after dropping as much as 1.2%.
On Wednesday Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell offered a short-term suspension of the U.S. debt ceiling to avert a national default and economic crisis, which economists have warned could be disastrous.
