The private sector in the United States saw the largest hiring in six months during March, according to data by the ADP National Employment Report on Wednesday.
The surge in employment, as reflected in the rise in private payrolls, comes amid increased rate of vaccination across the U.S. and a decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases, as the economy recovers from the pandemic, supported by the $1.9 trillion stimulus package.
Private payrolls increased by 517,000 jobs this month, still below market expectations.
However, the increase is much larger than the 176,000 rise seen in February.
The leisure and hospitality industry hired 169,000 people in March, compared with only 51,000 in February.
