Natural gas inventories in the United States decreased by 11 billion cubic feet (bcf) last week, according to the weekly report released on Thursday by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Working natural gas in storage reached 1,782 bcf as of Friday, March 12, the report showed.
Gas stockpiles were 253 bcf less than the comparable period of last year, and 93 bcf below the five-year average of 1,875 bcf.
The report further noted that at 1,782 Bcf, the total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
