The House of Representatives passed, Wednesday, a stand-alone legislation to suspend the federal debt limit through December 2022, but the bill will be encountered with block vows in the Senate due to solid Republican opposition.
The bill has been passed on a partisan line vote of 219-212 as Speaker Nancy Pelosi hinted, earlier this week, at changes as she moved to push ahead with debatable spending bill.
Republicans still insist on adopting the stance that Democrats must raise debt ceiling on their own.
The deadlock over the federal budget continues as clock ticks toward the midnight Thursday deadline for failure to a bipartisan agreement, creating a space for looming shutdown.
