The United States Consumer Confidence Index surged in April, maintaining a positive trend after a strong rise last month, data by the Conference Board indicated on Tuesday.
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index rose to 121.7 this month, compared with 109.0 in March.
The Present Situation Index increased from 110.1 to 139.6 this month.
The Expectations Index edged higher from 108.3 to 109.8 in April.
“Consumer confidence has rebounded sharply over the last two months and is now at its highest level since February 2020,” according to Lynn Franco, Senior Director of Economic Indicators at The Conference Board.
