Trump: “There is a rise in Coronavirus cases because our testing is so massive”

US President Donald Trump tweeted on Friday: “There is a rise in Coronavirus cases because our testing is so massive and so good, far bigger and better than any other country,” adding that this is excellent news, but “even better news is that death, and the death rate, is down. Also, younger people who get better much easier and faster!”

This comes after an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the US by more than 55,000 reported on Thursday, a new world record.

Previously in June, Trump tweeted: “Our Coronavirus testing is so much greater (25 million tests) and so much more advanced, that it makes us look like we have more cases, especially proportionally than other countries. My message on that is very clear!”

The outbreak after reopening operations put Trump’s comments and approach under scrutiny, and led to pausing the reopening plans across the states.
