The World Bank said its executive board on Monday approved a package of $723 million in loans and grants to Ukraine to support the government’s budget as the country grapples with war from Russia.
The bank added in a statement that the package includes $350 million to complement a previous loan provided by the World Bank, in addition to about $139 million through guarantees from the Netherlands and Sweden.
The package also includes $134 million in grants from Britain, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, and Iceland, as well as $100 million in parallel funding from Japan.
