The Nikkei index rose 0.70% in early trading in Tokyo

The Nikkei average rose in early trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday.

The Nikkei rose 0.70 percent to 25,338.64 points, while the broader Topix index rose 0.72 percent to 1812.43 points.
