As planned by the British government, parts of the country’s economy will reopen next Monday, the 12th of April, while vaccination operations will continue. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the government has given the green light to reopen non-essential stores, gyms, outdoor hospitality venues, and hair salons for the first time since the 5th of last January.
Johnson added that the closure rules will be eased, with caution and monitoring of data at every stage, expressing his hope that the roadmap for easing restrictions will be irreversible.
The British government intends to test the health passport in England from mid-April through proof of receiving the vaccine, a negative test, or evidence of the presence of antibodies such as infection with the virus during the 6 months.
Data from Johns Hopkins University showed that Britain has so far provided thirty-six million nine hundred thousand doses of the Corona vaccine, at a daily rate ranging between 450,000 to 850,000, as it is expected that it will take 4 months to vaccinate 75 percent of the population with a two-dose vaccine.
