Swiss Retail Sales Rise in August

Retail sales in Switzerland increased on an annual basis by 1.6% during August, data showed on Thursday.

Seasonally adjusted sales declined by 2.1% compared with the previous month, according to the provisional data by the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

Real turnover adjusted for sales days and holidays rose in the retail sector by 2.5% in August 2020 compared with the previous year. Real growth takes inflation into consideration. Compared with the previous month, real, seasonally adjusted retail trade turnover registered a decline of 1.9%.
