The Business Survey Index, focusing on business conditions in the manufacturing sector in South Korea, rose to 95 in December of 2021 after three consecutive months steady at 90.
The new figure is marking the highest level in the past five months. Meantime, the index measuring the outlook for January rose to 92 from 88 in the previous month.
In the non-manufacturing sector, the BSI on business conditions declined 1 point to 82, while the outlook for the next month also declined, by 5 points to 78.
The economic sentiment index, a composite of the Business Survey Index and the Consumer Survey Index decreased by 1.7 points to 104.6 in December.
