Oil prices ended Friday on a mixed note, awaiting the upcoming OPEC summit.
Brent crude futures for January delivery rose by 38 cents, or 0.8%, to close at $48.18 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for January delivery closed lower by 18 cents, or 0.8%, at $45.53 per barrel.
This follows recent surges on Thursday, which helped crude futures recorded big gains.
For the week, Brent futures rose for the fourth consecutive week, adding 7.2%.
On the other hand, the US benchmark crude futures gained 7.3% during the week, logging its highest gains in one week since October 9.
