The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) showed a mixed performance on Monday, amid an improved investors’ sentiment and the rise in Treasury bond yields following the passing of the $1.9 trillion relief bill by the U.S. Senate.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower by 0.97% at 31,802.44 points.
The S&P 500 index fell by 20.6 points, or 0.54%, and finished at 3,821.35 points.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index dropped by 311 points, or 2.41%, to end the first session of the week at 12,609.16 points, in the first correction wave for the index since last September.
