New Zealand Signs Historic Trade Deal With Britain

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced today, Thursday, that her country has signed a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Britain, adding that the free trade agreement will boost New Zealand’s gross domestic product by about one billion New Zealand dollars, through the unprecedented access of New Zealand products to the British market.

Ardern said the FTA would eliminate all tariffs by Britain on New Zealand exports, with more than 97 percent canceled on the day the FTA comes into force.

She explained that the trade agreement will see a significant increase in access to beef and lamb markets.
