Moderna is testing a potential monkeypox vaccine

Moderna is testing a potential monkeypox vaccine in preclinical testing as the disease spreads in the United States and Europe.

The World Health Organization said on Tuesday that the number of confirmed cases of monkeypox has reached 131 and there are 106 other suspected cases since the first infection was reported on May 7 outside the countries where the disease usually spreads.

Moderna has not yet responded to a request for more details about a possible vaccine.
