Italy posted a public budget surplus of 5.7 billion euros ($6.77 billion) in July, compared to a deficit of 7.2 billion euros in the same month last year, the Treasury said in a statement on Monday.
This difference is mainly due to an increase in tax revenue.
The Treasury said that the first seven months of the year recorded a combined budget deficit of 79 billion euros ($93.82 billion), down 23.4 billion euros from the same period in 2020.
