President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, has vowed to choose a diverse cabinet that represents all Americans. After a lot of anticipation and expectations, we are finally getting to know some of the names that he will nominate to his cabinet.
Janet Yellen
The first chairwoman of the US Federal Reserve, who served for one term between 2014 and 2018, is set to become the first Secretary of the Treasury.
Yellen was also the Fed’s Vice Chair from 2010 to 2014.
Anthony Blinken
The diplomat who is set to be the next Secretary of State has previously served as the Deputy Secretary of State from 2015 to 2017 and Deputy National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2015.
Alejandro Mayorkas
Biden’s nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security served as its Deputy Secretary between December 2013 and October 2016.
Mayorkas could become the first Latino and the first immigrant to lead the department.
John Kerry
The former presidential nominee and Secretary of State between 2013 and 2017, is set to become Biden’s special envoy for climate affairs.
