A health official in Germany said today, Friday, that the number of Coronavirus cases is rising dramatically.
Lars Shade, vice president of the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases, urged people not to travel during the Easter holidays to contain the increase in cases.
Today’s data of the Robert Koch Institute, Friday, showed that the number of confirmed cases increased by 17,482, bringing the total to 2 million and 629750.
The numbers also showed an increase in deaths by 226, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic about a year ago to 74,358 cases.
On the other hand, German Health Minister Jens Spahn, on Friday, dashed hopes that more restrictions imposed to combat the Coronavirus would be lifted.
“The high numbers of cases may mean that we cannot take further steps to lift restrictions in the coming weeks. On the contrary, we may even have to go back,” Spahn said at a weekly news conference.
