Germany accuses Russia of delaying gas deliveries

German Chancellor Olaf Schultz said on Wednesday that the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline turbine is working fine, requires no repairs and can be used at any time, blaming Russia for delays in gas supplies to the European Union.

During his visit to Siemens Energy, which was accused by the Russian gas company Gazprom of repairing only 25% of the damaged parts of the turbine last week, Schultz said, adding that Russia’s failure to fulfil contracts for the supply of gas is not related to any technical reasons at all, accusing Moscow of deliberately delaying the pumping of gas through Nord. Stream 1.

It is noteworthy that this turbine was previously shipped to Canada due to maintenance problems. Still, it has since been delivered to Germany, and then the Russian Gas Company announced last week that it would reduce gas flows through the gas line to only 20% of its capacity.
