President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Loretta Mester, said on Monday that the outlook for the U.S. is improving, expecting the Fed to keep its current policies to support economic growth.
“I’m thinking that we’ll see a very strong second half of the year, but we are still far from our policy goals,” Mester told CNBC in an interview.
“We need more of those kind of job reports coming out to actually make more progress than we’ve seen thus far.”
“I think we need to be very deliberately patient in our approach to monetary policy.”
“We just need to see more progress, and we need to see more of those kind of good numbers coming our way.”
