European stocks closed lower on Wednesday with the rising cases of COVID-19 raising concerns about the reopening of business worldwide and the highly anticipated global economic recovery.
The pan-continental STOXX Europe 600 index settled down by 0.67% at 366.48 points.
In the London Stock Exchange (LSE), the FTSE100 index closed down by 0.55% at 6,156.16.
In Paris, the CAC40 index finished lower by 1.24%, or 63 point, at 4,981.13.
Meanwhile, the benchmark German index DAX ended today’s session at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange down by 0.97% at 12,494.81.
Spanish IBEX35 dropped 1.62%, while the Italian FTSE MIB index lost 0.57%.
