European stocks closed Tuesday on a mixed note, amid concerns about the rising number of Coronavirus cases despite the rollout of vaccines.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index closed nearly unchanged from its level at Monday’s close.
The auto sector saw gains of about 1.7%, while the utilities sector lost 1.5%.
The German benchmark index DAX closed marginally lower by 0.08%.
The French index CAC40 declined by 0.20%, while the UK’s FTSE100 plunged by 0.65%.
