European stocks closed lower on Tuesday, amid anticipation for the developments of the Coronavirus pandemic across the content and for the new administration in the United States taking over tomorrow with the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
The pan-continental STOXX Europe 600 index finished lower by 0.2%, with the basic resources and travel sectors leading the decline and each falling by 1.3%.
In Germany, the benchmark index DAC lost 0.24%, while the French CAC40 plummeted by 0.33%.
In the UK, the FTSE100 index also declined, losing 0.11%, with continuous fears in Britain regarding London losing its position as a global financial hub after the Brexit.
