European stocks finished Friday higher, supported by an improved investors’ sentiment amid positive expectations for the distribution of vaccines and recovering economies.
The pan-European index STOXX 600 gained 0.91% and finished at 426.95 points, nearing its all-time high as it ended the week in gains for the fourth consecutive week, rising by about 0.90% compared to its level by the end of last week.
Tech and mining stocks led the gains, with the tech sector achieving its best weekly rise since last November.
Meanwhile, the UK’s FTSE100 finished higher by about 0.99%, while the French CAC40 and the German DAX added 0.61% 0.87%, respectively.
