According to Reuters, policymaker for the European Central Bank (ECB) Pablo Hernandez de Cos stated on Monday that core inflation in the Eurozone is expected to continue high for the remainder of the year.
“There is still territory to be covered in terms of monetary policy,” de Cos continued, “if the baseline scenario presented in March is verified.”
These remarks don’t seem to be boosting demand for the Euro during the US session. The EUR/USD pair was down 0.5% daily as of the time of writing and was trading at 1.0840.
