Closing prices of gold, crude oil and other commodities

The U. S. dollar rose to 110.79 Japanese yen from 110.24 yen. The euro fell to USD 1.1716 from USD 1.1747.
U.S. crude oil for November delivery rose 68 cents to USD 73.98 per barrel on Friday. Brent crude oil for November delivery rose 84 cents to USD 78.09 per barrel.
Wholesale gasoline for October delivery rose 2 cents to USD 2.19 per gallon. October heating oil rose 2 cents to USD 2.27 per gallon.
October natural gas rose 16 cents USD 5.14 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gold for December delivery rose USD 1.90 to USD 1,751.70 per ounce.
Silver for December delivery fell 25 cents to USD 22.43 per ounce and December copper rose 6 cents to USD 4.29 per pound.
