Bitcoin regained upward momentum on Wednesday, buoyed by softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data and improved sentiment following the temporary trade truce between the U.S. and China.
As of 02:16 ET (06:16 GMT), Bitcoin rose 1.3% to $103,862.5, recovering from recent profit-taking that followed a strong rally above the $100,000 milestone last week.
Inflation Data Reinforces Rate-Cut Bets
Tuesday’s U.S. consumer price index (CPI) report showed inflation easing more than expected, with both headline and core readings coming in below consensus. This signaled that the recent surge in tariffs had not yet triggered the feared second wave of price pressures and gave markets fresh hope that the Federal Reserve may resume monetary easing later this year.
While the central bank is expected to remain cautious, analysts said the soft inflation print strengthens the case for at least one rate cut if broader economic indicators weaken further.
Coupled with Monday’s joint U.S.-China statement to roll back tariffs for 90 days, risk appetite across markets rebounded. The U.S. agreed to lower its tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 30%, while Beijing reduced its retaliatory duties from 125% to 10%.
Although the relief is temporary, the move eased fears of a global recession, sparking renewed inflows into both traditional equities and speculative assets like cryptocurrencies.

eToro Targets $620 Million in Nasdaq IPO
In a sign of deepening institutional interest in crypto-linked businesses, Israel-based trading platform eToro is expected to raise $620 million through its U.S. IPO, pricing 11.92 million shares at $52 apiece, well above its initial range. The listing on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on May 14 will value the firm at approximately $4.3 billion.
The offering comes amid improved sentiment toward fintech and digital asset firms, as crypto markets continue to recover from regulatory headwinds and macro uncertainty.
Outlook
The near-term outlook for Bitcoin and altcoins will likely hinge on incoming macroeconomic data, Fed communications, and further developments in U.S.-China trade relations. While enthusiasm has returned, caution remains as inflation risks persist and geopolitical uncertainty continues to cloud investor confidence.
