Ozlem Tureci, the chief physician at BioNTech, said that about 140,000 people in Britain had received the vaccine, which the company manufactured in cooperation with the American Pfizer, to prevent Covid-19 disease, adding that the evaluation of side effects and tolerance is reassuring.
Britain was the first country to agree to distribute the vaccine for emergency use on December 3, followed by Canada and the US Food and Drug Administration.
“140,000 have received the vaccine in Britain so far, and the tolerance data is identical to what we have observed during our clinical trials,” Tureci said during an Internet call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
She stated that the side effects are between simple, medium and short term and are similar to what usually occur in other commonly used vaccines.
