Asian stocks rose on Tuesday, tracking the advance of Wall Street’s major indexes to record highs, as investors looked forward to major central bank meetings this week, starting with the US Federal Reserve.
The region’s stock market index excluding Japan rose 0.7%, led by a 1.2% jump in the benchmark Standard & Poor’s / ASX 200 Index in Australia.
In the same context, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index rose 0.6% to settle below the 30,000 mark, while the broader Topix index added 0.5%.
Likewise, China’s CSI 300 Blue Chip Index is up 0.7%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is up 0.7%.
