ECB Not Expected to End PEPP at Next Meeting

Reuters reported on Friday that European Central Bank policymakers do not expect to decide on potential changes to the pandemic emergency purchase program (PEPP) at its September meeting, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

Sources also indicated that a decision on PEPP would likely be made in October or even December as policymakers will have a clearer picture of the impact of the Covid-19 Delta variant on the Eurozone economy.

While European Central Bank member Pierre Wunsch told Reuters on Friday that the ECB should end the Epidemic Emergency Purchase Program next March based on the current economic outlook.

EUR/USD was slightly higher and posted small daily gains at 1.1777.
