President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Robert Kaplan, has expressed tolerance with the idea of the inflation rate going above the 2% target.
“I would be willing to see inflation run moderately above 2% in the aftermath of periods where we’ve been running persistently below.”
“I’m not making a commitment of what we’re going to do, I’m basically suggesting a tendency or likelihood, but it’s going to be subject to conditions we find and we’re going to have to adapt to those conditions.”
