Sales of new single\u2010family houses rose by 5.8% in November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 640,000, the data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed on Friday.<br><br>This reading followed October&#8217;s increase of 8.2% and came in much better than the market expectation for a contraction of 4.7%.<br><br>This data does not seem to be having a significant impact on the US dollar&#8217;s performance against its major rival currencies.
