This reading came in higher than the market expectation of 8.1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Core CPI, which excludes volatile energy and food prices, was up 0.6% and 6.6%, on a monthly and yearly basis, respectively. Both of these figures surpassed analysts&#8217; estimates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hot inflation data provided a boost to the greenback with the initial market reaction.
