The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 40.29 points, or 0.26 percent, to 15,276 at the open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dollar index fell 0.1 percent, while US 10-year bond yields fell to their lowest level in a week, reducing the opportunity cost of buying non-yielding gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of gold in spot transactions rose 0.1 percent to $ 1784.66 an ounce (an ounce) by 1214 GMT, after declining by about 0.6 percent earlier in the session. US gold futures fell 0.1 percent to $1,791.40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
