Positive earnings reports for the second quarter of the year eased concerns about a slower recovery with the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant, while investors continue to anticipate more signs regarding monetary policy adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 39.24 points, or 0.1%, to close at 35,405.5 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The S&P 500 index finished higher by about 10 points, or 0.2%, at a new record 4,496.19 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 22 points, or 0.2%, to settle at another all-time closing high of 15,041.86 points.
