U.S. stock indexes on Friday finished on a higher note, notching a series of record highs on the back of optimism about a fresh round of COVID spending, strong corporate earnings and progress in rollowuts of vaccines to combat the viral pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 27.70 points, or 0.09%, to finish at a new all-time high of 31,458.40 points, rising by 1% for the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The S&P 500 index rose by 18.45 points, or 0.47%, to close at 3,934.83 points, a new record high, scoring a weekly rise of 1.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
