China’s economic recovery accelerated in the third quarter of the year as consumers abandoned caution about the Coronavirus, but the main below-expected growth rate foretells continued risks to one of the few drivers of global demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Official data revealed on Monday that gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.9% from July to September, slower than analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll, which had growth of 5.2% but faster than the pace of growth in Q2 of 3.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Office for National Statistics said the world’s second-largest economy grew 0.7% in the nine months of the year compared to a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
