The index had fallen <strong>3.5%<\/strong> the week before amid a risk-off mood.<br>Hong Kong\u2019s <strong>Hang Seng<\/strong> edged <strong>0.6%<\/strong> higher, while China\u2019s <strong>CSI300<\/strong> rose <strong>1.1%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rate-cut expectations intensified after Fed Governor <strong>Christopher Waller<\/strong> said recent data shows the U.S. labor market remains soft enough to warrant another <strong>25-basis-point<\/strong> reduction.<br>According to CME\u2019s FedWatch Tool, markets now price an <strong>85.1%<\/strong> probability of a December cut\u2014sharply higher than <strong>42.4%<\/strong> a week earlier. The Federal Reserve meets on <strong>December 9\u201310<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dollar remained stable despite shifting rate expectations. The euro last traded at <strong>$1.15125<\/strong>, while the dollar index hovered at <strong>100.25<\/strong>, retaining most of last week\u2019s nearly <strong>1%<\/strong> advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geopolitics also remained in focus. Tensions between <strong>Tokyo and Beijing<\/strong> persist following comments by Japan\u2019s Prime Minister <strong>Sanae Takaichi<\/strong>, suggesting a Chinese attack on Taiwan could prompt a Japanese military response.<br>Takaichi spoke with <strong>U.S. President Donald Trump<\/strong> on Tuesday, following his Monday call with China\u2019s President <strong>Xi Jinping<\/strong>.
