The report is expected to show that <strong>headline inflation cooled<\/strong> on a <strong>month-over-month<\/strong> basis in January, while the <strong>annualized pace remains steady<\/strong> compared to December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>core inflation<\/strong> (which excludes food and fuel) is anticipated to <strong>rise slightly<\/strong> from the previous month, reinforcing concerns over <strong>persistent price pressures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, <strong>consumer prices rose 2.9% year-on-year<\/strong>, exceeding the Federal Reserve\u2019s <strong>2% target<\/strong>.
